Location – Krabi Style – Tropical Oasis Designer – Premier Resort Krabi Co Ltd Best Design Feature – Bamboo feature wall
To be honest, being surrounded by such natural beauty I didn’t spend all that much time indoors admiring the interiors!
Rayavadee is situated in the heart of Krabi’s beautiful Phranang Peninsula which is an area renowned for its natural beauty. The website describes the resort as “living in balance within the unique environment” with the accommodation constructed to nestle in between the property’s many trees, in order to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
We stayed in a Deluxe Pavilion set across 2 floors which offered spacious accommodation and a residential feeling of home. The decor has a tropical style with rich polished cherry wood and hand-crafted details throughout. The neutral tones are complimented with accents of mustard yellows and hues of orange that when set against the contrast of the dark wood create a tranquil sunset colour palette.
One element that was really eye-catching was the feature wall in the bedroom, which was a plaster representation of bamboo reeds; which lets face it must be a cleaning nightmare (thats the hospitality designer in me coming out!) but it sure does make an impact in the room.
The use of natural materials and finishes supports their sustainability efforts; working as a proactive member of the community to support initiatives that raise awareness of sustainable tourism practices and the importance of protecting the environment.
The interior is simple and elegant, focused on the natural elements and complimenting its external surroundings with its beauty.
