On my Instagram account I have shared my love for Agate and on a recent trip to Australia I picked up a few more pieces to add to my home decor collection. I popped into a local jewelers and she had beautiful gemstone products and huge pieces of Amethyst Geodes that if I had the luggage allowance (ok and the budget!) would have made their way back with me. Of course I couldn’t leave empty handed, so I picked up 2 tealight candle holders and they are just mesmerizing. If you are one of those people that can happily sit and stare at an open fire then these are for you; I have at least an hour of my life unaccounted for!

Agate is a form of finely-grained Quartz. The lovely color and patterns make this translucent gemstone very unique as Agate is unique in its own habit, with no two Agates being the same. If that isn’t amazing enough they are also believed to have healing properties such as cleansing the aura and eliminating negativity. Agate is believed by many to enhances mental function, improving concentration, perception and analytical abilities. It soothes, healing inner anger or tension and creates a sense of calm.

Sounds great doesn’t it, so I thought I would show you some ways in which this gorgeous stone can be used in your home decor, so you too can be inspired by its natural beauty and put its healing powers to the test!……. The bookends are next on my shopping list!
